Liver health overview
The health of your liver is one of the most important goals everyone should have. When your liver is damaged, not functioning properly, or diseased, it causes a wide variety of other health problems to crop up within your body.
The liver is one of the primary filtering organs within your body. It’s job is to filter toxins, bacteria, wastes and other harmful substances from your body and send it off for disposal. When the liver is diseased or damaged, it’s not able to filter toxins from your system at optimal rates. And when toxins stay around in your body, they become poisons which case major health problems.
There are many health problems which are thought to be caused by a damaged or badly functioning liver. Some of these can be as simple as bad breath or acne, while others are more problematic. Diabetes, hepatitis, psoriasis and moe can all be traced back to problems with the health of your liver.
Modern doctors and scientists don’t believe most liver problems can be cured, though there are vacines for specific types of liver problems. For the most part though, they attempt to treat the symptoms caused by liver problems instead of treating the liver itself. When someone has psoriasis for instance, doctors usually treat the skin eruptions only. With more serious diseases such as hepatitis, strong drugs are used. Often, surgeryes are performed to try and create artificial waste filtering and disposal systems instead.
The liver filters blood, and makes bile which caarries out fats and fatty substances from your body. The liver also processes fats, sugars, cholesterol, and makes important proteins which are used to help your body with proper blood clotting.
The liver also processes and metabolizes drugs and medications, stores important minerals such as iron, copper and various vitamins, plus is helps regulate fluid transfer from the blood and kidneys.
As you can see, the liver is critical to the health, life, and proper functionality of our bodies. When it becomes diseased, or simply stops working as well as it’s supposed to, a wide variety of health problems can occur.
The most common kind of liver damage is caused by malnutrition. This problem is increased by excessive alcohol consumption. One way to help prevent serious liver damage, diseases and problems is to limit your alcohol consumption of course, and another way is to be sure you’re getting adequate nutrition from the foods you eat or the supplements you take.
